Day 40 - 8/21/2023
Heyo. I'm sitting here drinking my coffee, nothin in it this time, just full on black coffee with some sugar. As I'm sitting here, I'm just realizing how fast time goes by. Like it's honestly really scary. It doesn't feel like it was that long ago when I made this website, but in reality it is already over a year old, and that's just weird to think about. I'm going to be 18 in a year. I'm getting my drivers license this year. I'm in my last high school year. My girlfriend is getting ready to move this year. My sister is getting ready to move probably NEXT year. Things are going to change forever, and y'know what, as much as some of this is bittersweet, I'm fine with it and I'm happy that I've made it to this point in my life, and I'm happy that I'm here right now, living and breathing. I'm very thankful for my parents and the lord for giving me this life I have right now.
Day 39 - 8/17/2023
Hello. Yeah uh fuckin whoops lmao, I had gotten really busy with school midway through July, and by the time it was done, grade school started back up. Honestly, it's been really nice! I have been feeling really good about myself recently, and have overall just felt positive about the current state of my life. It's a good start to my Senior year that's for sure.
I'll try to work on the videos planned once again, but they may not come out until next year, and Kaze's Quest coding has kinda been on a halt for a while, mainly due to school and marching band. Music, concept art, art assets, and cutscenes however have not stopped, and to be honest, has been the main focus this year. I'm trying to finish all level music tracks for the game, and next year will be the start of coding the level design and adding in the art assets for the levels. I'm unsure if some of the levels I have planned are going to be used or not, since I don't know where they would fit into the game's story. I haven't finished the story script so I can still make changes.
I hope to get a demo out to the public as well, by the end of this year. I have one level finished, Grassy Boundary. I need to make the song for the level, as I've been using Jungle Jingle's track as a placeholder. This and another level will be the next songs I work on this month. I also plan on releases a second demo reel with finished tracks and new tracks too. That should release by next month!

Day 37 - 7/13/2023
Hola. I missed yesterday because I just didn't feel like it. I had woke up late and grumpy lmao, and by the time I got home, I'd been pooped out.
I hate the fact that I'm going to be 17 in 7 days. Dunno if I've said it before, but I was born July 20th, 2006. And y'know, it's interesting to have lived in that time period. At age 0-6, the Wii and Xbox 360 was popular everywhere, people were still using CRTs for all their televisions, smartphones were starting to really kick off because of the iPhone 4S (I personally had a iPod Touch), social media like YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook were not invading our lives, and just... the whole aesthetic everything had, that Frutiger Aero... it was soooo pleasing to the eye!
Now we live in an age where most people have smartphones including children, Xbox having practically ZERO EXCLUSIVES ON THE NEW SYSTEM (Xbox Series), the new aesthetic INTENTIONALLY REMOVING IMPORTANT DETAIL TO ART (some pull it off nicely, others don't), and a overwhelming amount of streaming services that by paying for all the services just so you can have access to a specific show, will cost you practically just as much as cable would! Like what the fuck?!
I mainly use Hulu + Live TV. Cheap price, lets me watch my sports and local channels, while offering alot of content to stream. And I can take it on the go live, like a portable TV!
With all the complaining aside, ultimately, you can't dwell too much on the past, nor the present. Every decade has its own era, and the one we are living in right now is moving forward with crazy new technologies and discoveries about the world we live in. However, just as with every decade, it has a load of bullshit that follows it. I predict that the streaming market will crash due to the stupid amount of different services by 2030, and Twitter will have been killed off in favor of alternative websites/apps, lets see if I'm right lol.

We were out of coffee this morning, so hot cocoa had to suffice. Honestly, hot cocoa is so much better with almond milk than regular milk. I don't know if it's because I'm lactose intolerant, but it just tastes better. :D

FuCk. Yesterday was such a lazy day for me that I forgot to post on my blog lmao. I just kept sleeping in. It was really bad... and I had fixed up my sleep schedule finally, just to sleep in until the afternoon. It's really frustrating, especially because I CAN'T SLEEP AND IT IS 4:00 AM RIGHT NOW. SEND HELP.

I'm going to be making a small YouTube video today, kind of like a CGR video. (I hope that one day he will go back to making game related videos.) I'm thinking I make a video about the Sega Master System, since it's a console not too many people talk about. It's personally one of my favorites to go back to! So yeah, that's the plan for today. I'll be talking about the website publicly on the channel for the first time too, and will even mention the Discord server, which I've sorta released but not at the same time...? Hey guys!! It feels so good to be back! The blog is officially going to be daily again, because typing here lets me get my words out without talking to myself, and clears alot of stress. It's almost like a online diary!
So alot has changed since my last post.
1. I have finished my Junior year of high school. ONE MORE YEAR BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
2. I have obtained a Sega CD Model 2, Sega Game Gear, Bandai WonderSwan, and Parker Brothers Merlin.
3. Kaze's Quest development has changed drastically, and with multiple voice actors and having art assistance from my girlfriend, the game has went from being a free little game on Scratch to being planned to be sold on Steam! If the game sells well enough, I will release the soundtrack as a multi-disc CD album. A digital album will release soon after.

Get this, I'm on the process of fixing my insomnia! It's been a problem for me... forever. I can't think of me with a proper sleep schedule at all. Even as a 5 year old, I sucked at sleeping. Probably because I'd hide my DS under the pillow at night, or stay up at 2 AM to watch recorded SpongeBob episodes. Whoops. Well, I'm 16 now, and I think this needs a change. So now, I've been taking sleeping meds for the first time, and wow, they actually... WORK! It's so weird, but you just feel calm and... conk, you're asleep. It's amazing! Anyway...
This morning (6:57 AM) has been going well, for once I'm awake in the morning again. Feels good! Been watching the news, GMA is about to come on, and that's usually my queue to get the fuck out lol. I need to get ready, so that's where I'll end this. Seeya everyone!

Hello internet, its me once again. This day has honestly went pretty well! I was able to go out with my girlfriend to go shopping, so that was nice. I then finally revealed the new revamp for Kaze's Quest. Check it out here. You can see that the game has been updated in the art department, and there are multiple characters now seen! This game is going to be bigger than planned, but that's what exicting. To go to new heights!
Because of this game going under new development, I figured, why not show off the game's development more? Whoops, missed yesterday lmao. I was gonna make a post, then I got distracted with Sonic Frontiers. Oh by the way I beat the game. And the verdict?....
This is the best 3D Sonic game ever made.
This game was so fucking good dude. I don't want to talk about the story right now because of spoilers but... AHHH ITS GOOD. I can't believe it. A Sonic game in 2022 takes the crown over Adventure 2, Unleashed, Colors, and Generations. I'm so happy. The wait was so worth it.
Anyways, this morning has been really nice. My parents got some tacos, and I've been watching TV with a cup of coffee. When I make my coffee, I put in milk, sugar, cinnamon, and whipped cream on the top. It's perfect this way. Though soon once the weather starts getting colder, I do need to get some pumpkin spice creamer. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Yo what up. I think I'ma try to post here daily. It feels good to type what's on my mind. It's comforting, expecially knowing not many people are actually viewing this stuff. It's almost like a semi-public diary, and I don't know, its just a warm feeling. Anyway...
To be honest, these past weeks have just sucked. Lots of motivation was lost, lots of stress was felt, and lots of arguments have occured. It seems though that things are starting to get better, and hopefully it stays that way for a while... hopefully.
Day 20 - 11/9/2-22
So, sorry for not posting my expierience yesterday. I was too busy playing PEAK FUCKIN GAMING. Seriously, Sonic Frontiers is a must have for Sonic fans. I've never had this much fun with a Sonic game before. I love this game so fucking much. I made it to the second island, Ares Island. From just Kronos Island, its already become one of my favorite video games of all time. This game is so good dude, its so good. This game is the final topping to the sundae, now we just need the cherry on top, Sonic Prime. We won Sonic fans. We fucking won. Sonic Frontiers is good. YES!
I'll be posting my expierience getting the game, and the hassle of getting it from GameStop later today. Expect a video soon, too!

The critic reviews are in the 70s right now. Now that may sound bad from a casuals perspective, but from a fans perspective... HHRJAVDOQBFIQHFHWIDBROWBD8FJDIDHWHDHSOWB8DHQ. Even the best Sonic games since 2006 have gotten 70s by critics. This is very good news! This alongside Mutahar's recent video about the game make me even more excited for tomorrow! Tuesday is just gonna he a big day in general. Frontiers US/Europe launch, Election Day, and the blood moon eclipse. Just one more day... here we go.
Day 18 - 11/6/2022
SONIC. FRONTIERS. IS. COMING. OUT. IN. TWO. DAYS. HOLY. SHIT.
This is the year of Sonic. First we had the movie sequel, then Origins, then Speed Simulator, now we're gonna get Frontiers very soon, and Prime next month! And I didn't even mention all the merchandise, comics, and the Frontiers Prolouges. This is such an amazing year for the franchise... if Frontiers is actually good. As Silver says in Forces, I'm an optimist, but also a realist. I think Sonic Frontiers will be good, but the back of my mind is saying "set your expectations really low". Its just hard to trust Sonic Team after they fumbled the bag with Lost World, Forces, and the bad desisions made with Origins. I'll be buying the game on November 8th, and will be playing the game with my girlfriend. I'll give my first thoughts after I finish the first island on Tuesday. A lot of people, fans and non-fans have been saying this game is good, so until then... I'll keep hoping. That's all from me today. Talk to yall' on the 8th. Seeya!

Well fuck, its been 21 years since 9/11. I wasn't born when this happened, but it still shocks me that it happpened, and changed so much. Anyway, I guess some positives today is this.
Check this shit out! I reorganzied my room, and got another shelf for more space. I'm really happy on how this turned out! I also recently got a Famicom, looks nice on the shelf.
I've been playing Shenmue recently, really awesome game. I got it last year with my Christmas money, alongside Quake III Arena, PlanetWeb 2.0, and Dream Passport 3, all CIB, but I never ended up playing Shenmue for some reason until now, and I can't believe it has taken me this long to do so. Its so good!!!

Yo what up. It's 5:20 AM right now, and I'm not even tired. I have band practice from 10 AM to 4 PM, why the hell am I still awake lmao. This is not good. My sleep schedule is so so so fucked. I've been playing the classic Sonic games alot again, and I think Sonic Origins is to blame haha. Looking at all that art really made me appriciate the franchise and its charm.
I have no idea if I like Sonic 3&K or Sonic CD more... and even then, I don't know if Sonic 3&K or Sonic Adventure is my favorite game in the franchise... AHHH, how annoying. Just goes to show how good the old games were. I'm not saying the boost games are bad by any means, far from it. I love Unleashed, Colors, and Generations, they are really fun... but I really miss the original platforming style of the Genesis/Dreamcast era, where it knew when to slow down, and challenge your platforming skills. Thankfully, looks like Frontiers is going to be a mix between classic and boost gameplay, which I FUCK WITH. THAT JUST SOUNDS AMAZING!

Hey everyone, I'm back on Neocities. It's been a while since the last update no? Well, damn, just looking at this website... it looks pretty bare... I think it needs a makeover! Ima redesign the website very soon, make it nice and shparkly.
On another note, I'm gonna get back into making videos on KGR.7 and Emerald Coast. I've been wanting to spend time with that recently, so I think I should continue the Sonic reviews, going game by game. A marathon basically. Ima continue with Sonic CD, then Sonic 3&K, then the Genesis spinoffs, then Adventure, then Adventure 2, then Heroes, then- I think you get the point. I'm also gonna be reviewing Sonic Origins, and sorta comparing it to the other Sonic collections like Jam, Mega Collection (Plus), Gems Collection, Classics Collection, etc...
On ANOTHER note, I'm gonna start posting videos on a separate new channel as well. That channel name issssssssssssss... GamerKGR. Yeah I know I know, very fuckin creative Kolton. Hear me out, this channel is gonna be where I show more personal life videos, like vlogs, behind the scenes for KGR.7, rants, speedpaints, live stream VODS, skating vids, music WIP... essentially this website in video form. Well, today has been better than yesterday! Its been really fun. I've been working on alot of music lately. Not that long ago, I've been working with the Paper Luigi fan game team for music composition, and I'm also working on a song for a friend, ON TOP OF KAZE'S QUEST! Like holy SHIT! So much! I'm enjoying it all. I'm gonna be posting news about Kaze's Quest soon. The game has been under hiatus for a while due to life events stopping me from working on it. There isn't much else that needs to be done to be honest. Although I've been wanting to make actual cutscenes for the game, and by cutscenes, I mean hand drawn cel-like cutscenes, like the Sonic CD intro.

Today hasn't been very noteworthy to be honest. I've been sleeping on and off all day lol. I guess one thing I did today was that I redesigned the music room in my house. I moved in a couch and a XBOX, so its a nice media center now! I'm proud of myself that I got to get up and do this finally. Other than that its been really slowww. So I've been going all around town with my sister all day, and man, I've been having a blast! We've been going to many places, and one place we went to was a retro game store called Game Over. I picked up 3 different games. Rambo on the Master System, Super Monkey Ball Jr. on the GBA, and Global Defense (also known as SDI) on Master System. I know all 3 of these games are really good, and I only payed $20 for it all! Epic! \^-^/

Today has been amazing! I got out of school real early today, and me and my friend have finally put the argument past us. To top it all off, I'm going to be visiting my sister soon today. I haven't seen her in a month, and I've been meaning to hang out with her more, so this should be fun! I apologize for not writing anything this morning, I was really tired lol, when I would look at the screen all I'd see is blurryness haha.

So I have a state test today... Kind of? Its meant to be a practice test. Thing is, the practice is literally the regular test from what I know. So they are making us do the same test twice, and only one actually takes a grade. Fuck. Highschool. Doesn't help that I did stay up kinda late and only got 5 hours of sleep, so not only am I tired, but I have BAGS around my eyes. I hate it.
On a different note, 750 views and 2,208 hits! Holy shit to the third power, that's crazy! Ever since I started this blog, I've been enjoying my life more, and that's no joke. Me writing down my thoughts onto a html doc and making it a website has to be my one of my favorite things to do now lol. I've been noticing I've been waking up without a alarm recently. Its always around 6:20 AM to 6:30 AM. Its odd considering I always set my alarms to 6:40 AM up until now. I recently just stopped putting on alarms because I wake up without them, and at a much earlier time too. Is it a human superpower?!?... or maybe its just a normal thing lmao.
On a unrelated note, does anyone know or remember WebTV? Better yet, did you know WebTV was on the Sega Dreamcast, and only in Japan for a short amount of time? Yeah. Well, if you don't know what WebTV is, it allowed you to use the internet on your TV without a computer. You could send e-mails, look at the news, browse the web, go into IRC chats, and even do kareoke. You could switch between your TV and your WebTV with a push of a button on the keyboard it used, and do PiP with it so you could watch TV and browse the internet at the same time. So why am I telling you this? Well, recently, one of my friends on a Discord server has been working on a revival service for it. Its still in a private beta but I can show it off. Gotta be honest, my day ain't going that great today. I got into a argument with my friend like 4 days ago, and she STILL is upset at me even though I didn't do shit to her. I question me and her's friendship with each other sometimes. Today's also been real slowwww, and it doesn't help that I got to school late and tired. I fell asleep in 1st period and was late to 2nd period because of that. While I don't let days like these get to me and I still try to stay positive, it doesn't stop me from feeling a little upset, y'know?

Welp, I'm almost out of school. Just a few more minutes to go. My day did in fact get better so that's good I guess. I just wanna get home and work on some music for Kaze's Quest. I've been holding back on working on the game, mainly because of no motivation, but also because of the soundtrack, which I want to get out finished by 2022.

Just woke up, feelin' pretty good right now. Feels like the sun came out more earlier than usual, which I like. I didn't mention this last night, but I got my friend a cute little gift for Valentines Day. I hope she likes it haha.
God damnit, everytime I see the sun rise in the morning, all I can think of is the Sonic X ending credits lol. Bro fuck chemistry lmao. Why do I got to learn this dumb stuff in school... like I plan on becoming a game developer, why do I need to know about MoLaR mAsS CaLcUlAtIoNs aNd PeRcEnT cOmPoSiTiOnS, it's completely useless knowledge to me. Honestly, most of my Sophomore year has been just annoying because all I can think about is why the fuck do I have to do this. Thankfully I'm half done with the school year. Then comes my Junior year and my Senior year and aaaaaaaa I hate school so much lol.

If there is one I enjoy about school, it's band. So many fun songs for me to play... at least it looks like that is when in reality 2/3 of the songs we play I hate. But the one song I do like... wooooo baby it's good. It's very slow and beautiful, and I get to play vibes on it. Vibes perfectly do the vibe of a slow song. After class is over, I get to practice in the band hall instead of going to lunch, and I just came up with a really good song on marimba. The bass I achieved on that thing was insane. I think imma try to make a song using the melody I came up with. I'm looking forward to showing that off! \( ﾟヮﾟ)/

Just made the website, and I'm having alot of fun working on it! I am going to try to do a daily blog about my life.
I expect to post about some really cool games that I played, or music that I created!
